We are currently in times which none of us could possibly have foreseen and, as such, we all need to act in accordance with the guidance of state and federal governments, health authorities, Melbourne University Sport and the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) for the health and safety of all members of the broader Uni Blues community.
Today the VAFA announced that all activities relating to the 2020 VAFA season will be postponed until May 2nd. This includes practice matches, training the season proper.
The VAFA will work with clubs in the coming weeks, to re-confirm schedules and fixtures going forward from that time.
Based on the information and recommendations of our medical personnel, the club cancelled the practice matches scheduled for 14th March and 21st March and has ceased training and all events and related activities from that time. This will continue until the club considers it safe to return to training based on forthcoming evidence surrounding COVID-19 and is advised by the VAFA and our own medical personnel.
Our playing group has been advised that group trainings will no longer be taking place for the foreseeable future, and we encourage them to maintain their individual training and fitness regimes whilst adhering to the Social Distancing guidelines in preparation for the commencement of the season, when we receive the go ahead.
For the latest and evolving information on this situation we encourage our players, staff, volunteers and members of the broader Uni Blues community to monitor emails and the Uni Blues website (www.unibles.com)
