Ben McKinley Senior Assistant Coach
Ben McKinley played 48 games with West Coast and North Melbourne in the AFL and more recently at Werribee in the VFL playing predominantly as a lead-up forward.
Jason has an extensive coaching background and has held numerous senior and assistant coach positions in country leagues over the past two decades. He has enjoyed success with regular premierships and finals appearances across senior, reserves and under 18 level and took the Blues Twos to the premiership in his first year at the club in 2016.
Jeff Scotland Under 19s Coach
Jeff Scotland came to Uni Blues in 2013 after a stellar playing career where he played well in excess of 300 VAFA Games at Power House and Caulfield Grammarians. Since his playing days he has coached at both Senior and Junior at Power House (co Senior Coach in 2012) and Murrumbeena Football Clubs. Since joining Blues in 2013, Jeff has coached the Under 19s team and were runners up in 2014. This year, he joins the senior coaching panel when he takes the reins of the Blues Thirds team.
Christian Neeson Assistant Coach
James Walker came to Blues in 2014 as a Senior Assistant Coach and held the role for 2014 and 2015. This followed an AFL career with the Fremantle Dockers of in excess of 150 games and a brief stint as an assistant coach at Old Xavs. James was always destined to be a Uni Blue, having entered the University of Melbourne in 1997, where he was a resident at Trinity College, and was often seen training with the Blues prior to being drafted later in 1997. He was an early draft pick in the 1997 National Draft and made his AFL debut in round 19, 1998. When not playing for the Dockers, or their WAFL affiliate, he succesfully contested the AFL Grand Final Sprint in 2003 and 2004 receiving the title as one of the quickest players in the AFL.
