Seniors vs. Old Carey

Blues reversed their usual trend and got away to a flyer on Saturday against Old Carey and held a handy 26 point lead at quarter time. The instructions from Coach Gleeson to run and carry the ball and to apply pressure all over the ground provided handsome dividends.

Carey came back in the second term kicking 4 of their own and it was only our ability to steady and kick a couple that gave us the handy half time lead.

Another great defensive term when we kept Carey goalless whilst again bagging a couple gave us a handy 5 goal lead at the final change and we maintained the lead to run out 39 point victors.

The defence was brilliantly led by the Skipper, Hughie Vicker-Willis for the second week, and was supported by Dale Hinkley of half back and Angus Nice and Jeremy Mugavin through the Midfield.

Tommy Quinn provided a lot of movement up forward and the return of Tom MacKenzie after missing all of 2015, along with the Paddys (Hayes and Gardiner) provided a great targets up forward.
