Seniors
It was vital that University Blues got back on the winner's list this week. Old Essendon were no easy-beats, especially after coming off their first ever A-Section win in round 6. Fortunately for the Blues, Coach Kanis had his men up and they overcame the might of OEG comfortably. Matt Torney in his second game back demonstrated why he is so highly rated by team-mates and he won the UCLA t-shirt this week. Goals were well-spread with the big men up forward, Paton, Lowcock and Heinz enjoying good games in front of the big sticks. Ben McConnell played well through the middle and Dan Carmody was relentless with his tackling.

Reserves
The Mighty Uni Blues Twos are gradually returning to the their premiership winning form as they easily accounted for Old Essendon. After two close early season losses, Coach Guengerich's men are beginning to send some shudders through the competition. Nick Hardie-Grant played as though there was no opponents on the ground. Al Austin is way too big for his age and was also good. George De Crespigny kicked 4 after a holiday in Mexico (insert swine joke here). Andrew Solly made a welcome return to football and kicked 1 goal.

Club XVIII
Supercoach Granleese's men travelled to Essendon to take on new-comers to Club XVIII Section 1, St.Bernards. The Beethovens were no match for a pumped up and excited Uni Blues side who had welcomed back some key players from the 2s and from injury. Tom Calvert marked anything that found its way to Centre Half Back while Aaron Kelly, Hammer-time Rankin, Troy Auld and Christopher Pyke continually found the ball in the middle. Victor Dislakis and Willis McKinley kicked 3 each.

In the club's best win of the week, the Unders made it 2 in a row for the first time this season after beating the previously undefeated Old Xavs. It was a great team effort and the boys are continually improving and getting to know each others' games.
