In 1985, John Kanis made the All-Australian Amateur team and the next year, at 26 years of age, he was put on Hawthorn’s senior list.  After the 1987 season, having returned to Caulfield Grammarians, Kanis decided on a change.

Where Are They Now? Matt Wilson

Horsham-bred Matt Wilson was a rover/small forward who arrived at Blues Under-19s via Monivae College in 1981. Matt was a courageous player who by his own admission might have lacked a touch of pace, but good reading of the play saw him win large possession numbers, and he went on to be a Twos stalwart of the 1980s, who was rewarded with senior selection in 1984 against Old Scotch. A resident of University College, Matt was an integral part of Pavvy life in the 80s and was an inaugural member of the legendary drinking club, the Blues Centurions

Where Are They Now? Lori Galli

Amongst the list of names of those who have been awarded the Chris Brown Trophy for best clubman at Uni Blues is that of Lori Galli.  She regards the acknowledgement as the highlight of her time at the club.  “I was very proud to be a female and win it.  I have many fond memories of my time at Uni Blues and the people I met.  I was very new to the football culture and what went on.  But I can honestly say that I was never made to feel uncomfortable being a female in a predominately male domain.”

Where Are They Now? Wayne "Turk" Carroll

There have been some larger-than-life characters swan through the doors of the Pavvy over the decades but few have a reputation and a Uni Blues resume to equal that of Wayne “Turk” Carroll. Turk may presently be holed up in Kuala Lumpur but he found time to give uniblues.com the complete story regarding his current whereabouts, his days at Uni Blues and his recent return to onfield action.
